Texas Instruments named among "100 Best Corporate Citizens"

DALLAS, April 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- For the 11th time, Texas Instruments (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) Incorporated was recognized among the world's top corporate citizens by Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine. TI ranked 38 in the announcement of the 14th-annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens List.

The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List ranks companies based on publicly-available information in seven categories: environment, climate change, human rights, philanthropy, employee relations, financial performance and governance. The list's creators assign a 19.5% weighting to environmental impact and employee relations because they believe those are most important to consumers, shareholders and employees. The ranking has gained national recognition as an indicator of best practices in the area of social responsibility.

"TI's corporate responsibility initiatives have helped the company attract and retain a highly skilled workforce, deliver sustained strong financial performance, develop lasting shareholder value and fortify our global reputation," said Trisha Cunningham, TI's chief citizenship officer. "We are delighted to again be recognized for our core values of high ethical standards and social responsibility."

The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List, first published in 1999 by Business Ethics Magazine, is compiled by environmental, social and governance investor data firm IW Financial. The report analyzes public data on companies collected from public sources, such as websites and sustainability reports.

TI provides a detailed annual report of its corporate citizenship activities on the company's website at www.ti.com/csr. The 2012 report, which highlights the company's continued commitment to stellar citizenship and transparency in operations, is due to be made public in late May this year.
