Texas Instruments among 2011 'World's Most Ethical Companies'

DALLAS, March 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments (TI) Incorporated has again been named one of the world's most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute. This is the fifth consecutive year TI has secured a spot on the list.

"It is a tremendous honor to once again be recognized for the strong emphasis we place on operating with integrity and transparency," said David Reid, TI Vice President and Director of Ethics. "TI is steadfast in meeting the highest standards of corporate citizenship, and this commitment is carried forward by our employees who have long conducted business with integrity. I am proud of all our employees around the world who exemplify TI's values and make recognition like this possible."

The "World's Most Ethical Companies" (WME) list is developed annually by Ethisphere Institute, a think tank dedicated to the creation, advancement and sharing of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability. Through in-depth research and a multi-step analysis, Ethisphere reviewed thousands of companies and evaluated a record number of applications, naming 110 companies that surpassed their industry peers to this year's list. The WME rankings will appear in Ethisphere Magazine's first-quarter issue.

TI provides a detailed annual report of its ethics and citizenship activities on the company's website at www.ti.com/csr. TI's 2010 report is due to be made public in late May. The comprehensive report is used by a variety of stakeholders to understand TI's social and environmental performance, as well as associated risks and opportunities.

The methodology for the WME ranking includes reviewing codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluating the investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; assessing activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.
