DALLAS (Jan. 30, 2018) – Texas Instruments has elected Dr. Baher Haroun as a TI Senior Fellow for his innovation in signal path circuits, systems and architectures. Haroun is among a group of three innovators at TI who were awarded the prestigious titles of TI Fellow or TI Senior Fellow on TI’s Technical Ladder, which recognizes employees who fuel innovation across the company to support business goals.

TI Fellows and Senior Fellows are chosen by their peers and TI’s senior leadership team annually, and must be re-elected every five years. Haroun has held the TI Senior Fellow title since 2011.  

“Through his technical contributions and expertise, Baher Haroun continues to provide innovative out-of-the-box thinking and persistent execution,” said Ahmad Bahai, chief technologist, Texas Instruments. “I look forward to continue engaging with Baher on breakthrough innovations that will shape and advance our technology roadmap.”

Since 2009, Haroun has served as director for signal path technology development in TI’s Kilby Labs, the company’s technology research center and incubator for many of the world-changing technologies that are in its products today.

Haroun manages multiple teams driving advancements in mixed signal systems, mmWave and RF and timing paths. Previously he was director of Embedded Processing Labs and served as chief technology officer for TI’s Embedded Processing and Wireless businesses. He also worked as a director of technology integration and branch manager in Wireless. Haroun joined TI in 1995.

Haroun earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He earned his doctorate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. His studies encompassed electronics and communication engineering; video and image analog and digital signal processing; and VLSI, DSP silicon compilers and signal processing automated design.
